BlockBeats news, October 7th, according to BIT (bit.com) market data, securities tokenization platform Securitize announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with South Korean technology company LG CNS to explore products such as tokenized funds, stocks, and stablecoins, promoting the adoption of tokenized assets and digital asset infrastructure by South Korean financial institutions. After the news was announced, Securitize (SECZ) rose nearly 8% to about $12.60 in early trading on Tuesday, before the gains somewhat retreated.
South Korea's Financial Services Commission last week proposed a regulatory framework for securities tokenization, planning to regulate the issuance and circulation of tokenized securities such as stocks, bonds, and funds starting from February 2027. LG CNS launched a blockchain infrastructure platform during the same period, providing support related to stablecoins and tokenized securities for banks and financial institutions.
Securitize has become an important platform in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector, which currently has a market size of about $40 billion. As traditional financial institutions accelerate their exploration of on-chain stocks, the scale of tokenized stocks has grown 10.6% over the past 30 days, reaching about $3.2 billion. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo previously stated that even if tokenized stocks achieve a limited degree of adoption, it could significantly expand the crypto market size.
