BlockBeats news, September 24: Blockchain technology company StarkWare stated that after a week of AI-assisted programming, the computational cost estimate for its quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction has dropped from about $320 to $66, a decrease of approximately 79%. Previously, a related transaction completed by StarkWare in August required about 3,100 hours of computation time, using about 100 GPUs, with a computational cost of approximately $320.
Subsequently, StarkWare launched a code optimization competition, where participants used AI tools to improve search efficiency, increasing computation speed by about 5 times. This solution uses a hash mechanism to help BTC address potential quantum computing threats, without requiring a soft fork upgrade to the Bitcoin network. However, $66 is still only an estimate based on test results, and the improved code has not yet been proven to have been successfully used for another transaction mined on the Bitcoin network.
