Apple Develops New Fitness Tracker Prototype, Aiming Directly at Whoop

BlockBeats news, September 23 - Apple Inc. is developing a screenless health and fitness tracker, similar to Whoop Inc.'s wrist-worn device, as part of its efforts to rethink its smartwatch lineup and add new wearable technology initiatives.

According to people familiar with the matter, Apple has been exploring this category for several months and is currently developing a prototype. The project has received support from top executives, including Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook and Services Chief Eddy Cue, but Apple has not yet decided whether to release the product.

The project is still in the preliminary stage internally referred to as a "technology investigation." If Apple continues to move forward with the release, the device will not debut until at least 2028. (Bloomberg)
