Binance Security Advisory: iPhone Users, Please Check if FomoPeek Is Installed; It Can Exploit iOS Vulnerabilities to Gain the Highest Device Privileges

BlockBeats news, September 19: Binance Wallet has issued a security advisory: iPhone users, please check whether you have ever installed the FomoPeek app. Binance has noticed a security incident recently disclosed by the community. According to security firms such as SlowMist, the third-party app FomoPeek (versions 1.1-1.2) contains malicious code that can exploit iOS system vulnerabilities to obtain the highest device privileges and may access sensitive data stored on the device, including private keys, mnemonic phrases, login credentials, chat records, files, and more. Please note that this type of malware directly attacks the device itself. If the attack succeeds, data from all apps on the affected device may be accessed.

Please check the following:

1. Are you using an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.x or an earlier version?

2. Have you ever installed the FomoPeek app?

If both of the above apply to your situation, it is recommended to immediately take the following steps:

1. Delete the FomoPeek app and do not reinstall it.

2. Update the iOS system to the latest version.

3. For users using self-custodial wallets: create a new wallet on a device that has never had this app installed, and transfer assets to the new wallet address.

4. If you discover any abnormal asset activity, please preserve the affected device and relevant evidence, and contact customer service for further investigation.
