Anthropic and OpenAI are seeking smaller-scale data center deals.

Beating AI News Flash: According to CNBC, sources have revealed that as competition intensifies to secure the infrastructure needed to deploy workloads, Anthropic and OpenAI are actively seeking smaller-scale AI data center collaboration projects. Over the past year, both AI labs have signed massive agreements involving hundreds of megawatts or even gigawatt-scale capacity for AI data centers, but insiders say the two companies are now also pursuing deals for much smaller deployment computing capacity in the 20 to 30 megawatt range. Anthropic has already approached parties in the UK and the Nordic region for agreements within this capacity range, while OpenAI has previously been exploring opportunities for such smaller-capacity deployments in the Nordic region. One source said they also learned that Anthropic and OpenAI have held discussions regarding capacity deployments of this scale in the United States.
