BlockBeats News, September 5th, the end-of-August crypto market rebound has driven corporations to increase their crypto asset allocations. As the price of Bitcoin rose, Bitcoin mining companies that had previously shifted focus to AI businesses once again became high-beta targets for BTC price movements, bringing market attention back to corporate balance sheet strategies of holding Bitcoin directly.
Data shows that Bitcoin rose by about 23% at the end of August, with some mining companies seeing their stock prices surge by 41% to 67%, outperforming several AI infrastructure companies. The market believes that the U.S. Treasury's expansion of bond buybacks, the White House's release of positive signals on crypto regulation, and the liquidation of over $1.6 billion worth of short positions all contributed to the rise in related assets.
On the corporate accumulation front, Strive purchased 1,800 BTC in the last week of August, spending around $143 million, increasing its total holdings to 23,156 BTC, making it the fifth-largest publicly traded company holding Bitcoin; during the same period, Strategy increased its holdings by 4,603 BTC, with a total holding exceeding 845,000 BTC.
Meanwhile, 21 major financial institutions, including Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, plan to establish a new company and are expected to launch a U.S. stablecoin in the first half of 2027, subsequently expanding to other G7 currency stablecoins for cross-border payments and digital asset settlements.
As for Ethereum, Bitmine has been accumulating ETH for 65 consecutive weeks, with its latest holdings surpassing 5.9 million ETH, accounting for 4.9% of Ethereum's circulating supply of approximately 121.07 million ETH, just a step away from its 5% target. Despite the ongoing accumulation, the company's current ETH holdings still face an unrealized loss of around $5.1 billion.
