Serenity: Sivers to Expand InP Capacity, AI Optical Communication Market Could See $10 Billion Potential

BlockBeats News, September 3rd, Serenity reported that Sivers Semiconductors (SIVE) announced plans to expand its InP (Indium Phosphide) manufacturing capacity in Glasgow, Scotland, aiming to achieve a production capacity of approximately 1 billion CW DFB lasers per year, expected to go online in Q4 2027. The expansion plan was disclosed by Sivers officials.

Serenity stated that based on Sivers' historical price range of $50-100 per laser in an array of 8, the potential annual revenue scale of the new capacity could reach around $625 million to $1.25 billion (for modeling purposes only, not company revenue guidance).

She expressed surprise at the scale of capacity unleashed by Sivers in this round of Hybrid Manufacturing, especially against the backdrop of a laser supply shortage in the AI data center optical communication industry. Sivers' expansion this time is mainly aimed at AI data centers and high-speed optical interconnection needs.
