Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference that stock tokenization will not only expand the coverage of the traditional stock market but may also bring new incremental users to Bitcoin. He believes that the Bitcoin blockchain itself is currently not very suitable for tokenization, but the entire crypto ecosystem is actually mutually reinforcing. For example, many users in Asia used to have difficulty opening a U.S. brokerage account, and even if they did, they had to deal with time zone differences and trading hours; once U.S. stocks are tokenized, they can participate more conveniently through crypto platforms. And those who originally entered the crypto platform to buy U.S. stocks are also very likely to first encounter and hold Bitcoin. Zhao believes that as these users continue to accumulate, what is beneficial for tokenized stocks will ultimately also benefit Bitcoin.
