SpaceX plans to build a $100 billion Starship launch facility in Louisiana

BlockBeats News, August 26th, SpaceX plans to build a $100 billion Starship launch facility on the southern coast of Louisiana, adding a third Starship launch site.

The facility, located on Peckan Island, covers approximately 125,000 acres and is designed to house 5 launch complexes, 10 launch pads, as well as facilities for propellant production, power generation, spacecraft processing, and employee housing.

The site will help SpaceX increase the Starship launch frequency and support future plans to deploy up to 1 million data center satellites. The Starship will also be used to launch an upgraded version of the Starlink satellite, with the earliest orbital data center mission scheduled for 2027 and plans to carry NASA astronauts to the moon as early as 2028.
