Coinbase Selects Abu Dhabi as Global Hub for Tokenization of Assets

BlockBeats News, August 11th, Coinbase is setting up its international tokenization center in Abu Dhabi to provide a regulatory base for on-chain traditional securities issuance outside the United States.

The company said on Tuesday that it has obtained a financial services license from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), allowing it to arrange investment transactions and provide custody services for tokenized securities.

Coinbase stated that it plans to utilize this license to offer digital securities backed by underlying stocks. These tokens will be registered and issued in the ADGM, and will be regulated by the FSRA.
