Rocket Lab Secures $397 million U.S. Space Force Contract, Serenity Says It Will Be a Key Space Military Infrastructure Supplier

The company plans to use the medium-lift rocket Neutron to perform satellite launch missions, further advancing its transformation from a "small rocket company" to a comprehensive space infrastructure enterprise.

The SB-AMTI project is led by the U.S. Space Force's Space Perception and Targeting Department and aims to establish a space-based air threat detection and tracking system. The contract also includes options to add more Flatellite satellites in the future.

Rocket Lab CEO Peter Beck stated that the company is honored to be part of the SB-AMTI project, which is of great significance in building a layered, resilient tracking architecture for the U.S. Space Force.
