BlockBeats News, August 3rd, Galaxy Research Director Alex Thorn issued a warning on Twitter, indicating that the fourth wave of organized attacks targeting Coldcard hardware wallet users is currently taking place. In the past approximately 2.5 hours (blocks 960778–960792), there have been 218 transactions involving 462 victim addresses and around 388.93 BTC. These transactions exhibit characteristics consistent with the previous Coldcard vulnerability UTXO pattern, with transaction frequency elevated to about 45 times the normal level. Some funds have already been transferred to a second-hop address, while other transactions are still pending confirmation in the mempool with RBF enabled.
It is advised that affected users immediately move their funds out of the Coldcard device and utilize a high transaction fee.
