BlockBeats News, July 20th, Meritz Securities report pointed out that the server DRAM spot price has recently experienced a sharp increase, with the spot price exceeding $3,100, a 146% premium over the late June contract price of $1,380. The main driving factors include the demand from sovereign AI projects such as Saudi Arabia, new AI data center test demand, and extremely tight supplier supply.
Meritz Securities emphasized that the spot price-contract price spread is a key indicator. Since mid-July, the spot price has surged due to the surge in AI demand.
Meritz Securities believes that the current spot price surge is similar to the server market's sudden rush in January this year and predicts that a contract price increase after hyperscalers' earnings reports may drive a memory stock rebound.
