Prominent Trader: Closed All Cryptocurrency Short Positions and Restarted Buying Bitcoin Spot

BlockBeats News, July 19th — Renowned crypto trader Doctor Profit announced that he has closed all his cryptocurrency short positions. This includes a Bitcoin short position established in the $115,000 to $125,000 range, another Bitcoin short position in the $79,000 to $82,000 range, and over 100 altcoin short positions opened in the past few months. He stated that these positions have all realized substantial profits.

He also mentioned that he has reentered the Bitcoin spot market at $64,000, marking his first long-term position since September 2025. His plan is to allocate 5% of his planned funds into spot Bitcoin purchases daily while Bitcoin is in the $54,000 to $64,000 range, for a maximum of 20 days. If the price approaches $54,000, he will increase his buying intensity.

Doctor Profit believes that there is a clear presence of "herd behavior" in the current market. Investors who were previously bullish at highs of $150,000 are now widely waiting for Bitcoin to drop to the $40,000 to $50,000 range, viewing September or October as the bottom of the four-year cycle. When a large number of investors are all waiting for the same price and time points, the market may not necessarily behave as expected. Therefore, he chose to accumulate early, believing that this cycle's bottom may arrive sooner than the market's general expectation.

He also cited regulatory clarity, asset tokenization infrastructure, and institutional adoption progress as structural reasons for shifting to a buying posture and retracted his previous prediction that Bitcoin would fall to $40,000 to $50,000. However, he is still maintaining a short position on the S&P 500 index, as he believes the crypto market has undergone a significant repricing while U.S. stock valuations remain high.
