Samsung Electronics: Currently No Plans to Issue American Depositary Receipts

BlockBeats News, July 14th, Samsung Electronics stated that it is currently not considering the possibility of issuing American Depositary Receipts.

Previously, sources familiar with the matter said that Samsung Electronics is in the early stages of exploring the issuance of American Depositary Receipts (ADR). Samsung has had preliminary discussions with several banks but has not yet decided whether to proceed with the plan.

Samsung will closely monitor the volatile trend of the memory chip stock during the decision-making process. If the company eventually moves forward with a U.S. listing, its extensive business portfolio and ongoing labor disputes may pose challenges to the transaction structure design. Sources said that Samsung has evaluated the possibility of issuing ADRs in the past but ultimately decided not to pursue it. However, SK Hynix's recent successful U.S. listing has provided new impetus for Samsung to reconsider this option.

BlockBeats Note: Samsung Electronics is one of the core subsidiaries of the Samsung Group, and the two are not two separate independent companies.
