BlockBeats News, July 12th, Bitcoin reserve company Empery Digital (EMPD) disclosed that it has sold 1,400 BTC in the past two months, with an average selling price of $62,200 per BTC, totaling approximately $87.1 million in proceeds. The funds were used to invest in an AI data center project and to repay debt.
Part of the proceeds was used to acquire a 25% equity stake in an AI data center project, while another $10 million was used to repay outstanding debt. Following this sale, Empery Digital's Bitcoin holdings decreased by 48%, now holding 1,514 BTC, valued at approximately $97 million at the current price.
Upon this news, EMPD's stock price initially surged by 4.2% in early trading and ultimately closed with a 1.58% gain. The market views positively the company's decision to convert a portion of its Bitcoin reserve into AI infrastructure investments.
