U.S. Central Command: U.S. Strikes Iran-Backed Militia in Syria in Response to Drone Attacks

BlockBeats News, June 27th, the United States Central Command stated that on June 26th, the military conducted a strike against Iran in a strong response to the previous day's attack on a commercial ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, Iran used a kamikaze drone to attack the "Ever Lovely" cargo ship on June 25th. U.S. fighter jets subsequently targeted Iran's missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar stations. Iran's military's unprovoked aggression against the commercial ship clearly violated the ceasefire agreement.

Furthermore, with a significant amount of trade passing through this vital international trade route, Iran's dangerous actions have also undermined freedom of navigation. The U.S. Central Command forces will continue to provide coordination and support for the safe passage of commercial ships through the strait. The U.S. military will maintain a presence and remain vigilant to ensure compliance with and enforcement of all agreements reached with Iran and to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
