Micron CEO: Expects Humanoid Robots to Drive Decades-Long Memory Demand Cycle

BlockBeats News, June 25th — Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra stated during this morning's earnings call, "In the field of robotics, the continuous progress in simulation, foundational models, and integrated software-hardware technology stack is accelerating the development of physical AI. This is creating a growing and content-rich opportunity for high-bandwidth, low-power storage and memory devices, which will support real-time perception, inference, and control."

"The storage capacity onboard humanoid robots is 10 times that of the average L2+ level car. We anticipate that a sustained and sizeable multi-decade cycle of storage demand will begin in the latter part of this decade."

Serenity commented that from TSMC's Chairman and Tesla CEO Musk to Micron's CEO, industry leaders seem to view humanoid robots as the next major trend. Therefore, physical AI may be the next important direction. It is worth noting whether the world will have sufficient storage supply or whether there will be enough breakthroughs to reduce storage usage.
