BlockBeats News, May 10th, according to Fars News Agency, Iran is pushing for foreign submarine cable operators to obtain licenses, pay fees, and be subject to its laws. These cables carry a significant amount of data traffic between Europe, the Gulf region, and Asia. Iran is also demanding that all management and maintenance work must be exclusively carried out by local companies.
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran had warned that it could launch attacks on relevant submarine cable infrastructure.
