Claude App's monthly active users surged 660% in one year to 85.8 million, with a staggering 2321% increase in downloads.

According to Onion Insights monitoring, website analytics company Similarweb has released the April year-over-year data for Claude App: global Monthly Active Users (MAU) surged from 11.31 million in the same period last year to 85.79 million, a 658% year-over-year growth; App Store downloads jumped from 0.92 million to 22.3 million, a 2321% year-over-year increase. The statistics cover both Android and iPhone platforms globally.

This round of growth has been concentrated in the recent months. Anthropic has been intensively rolling out new features such as Claude Cowork since the beginning of the year. At the end of February, Anthropic publicly rejected the U.S. Department of Defense's demand to abandon its red lines on mass surveillance and autonomous weapons, leading to Claude's immediate rise to the top of multiple countries' App Store free charts.
