According to Dynamic Beating's monitoring, on the first day of the Musk v. OpenAI case trial, Musk took the stand as the first witness and spent 30 minutes starting from his days as a lumberjack, recounting the achievements of PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla, and Neuralink. When discussing OpenAI, he summed up his contribution by saying, "I came up with ideas, named it, recruited key people, taught them everything I knew, and provided all the initial funding. Other than that, I didn't do much." He paused, expecting laughter, but the courtroom was mostly silent.
When asked who former OpenAI board member Shivon Zilis was, Musk replied, "Shivon is, uh, my chief of staff, and then, uh, you know." Laughter erupted in the gallery, while the jury looked puzzled. Zilis is the mother of several of Musk's children. He also mentioned how Larry Page "never spoke to me again" after Musk poached Sutskever from Google.
Prior to the trial, Altman approached a New York Times reporter and said, "Hope you enjoy the show." Brockman, on the other hand, sat quietly throughout Musk's testimony, taking notes in a small notebook and occasionally looking up at the lawyer presenting old email evidence.
