Iran Rejects Interim Ceasefire Agreement, Demands Fees for Ships Passing Through Strait of Hormuz

BlockBeats News, April 7th, according to Reuters citing a senior Iranian official, Tehran has rejected any interim ceasefire agreement with the United States. Tehran has set preconditions for holding talks with the U.S. on a "lasting peace." The preconditions include an immediate cessation of hostilities, assurance of no further attacks, and compensation for losses. Under the permanent peace agreement, Tehran is requesting a fee for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with the fee varying depending on the type of vessel, cargo carried, and current passage conditions.
