BlockBeats News, April 4th: U.S. President Trump announced the overview of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget proposal, planning to request a record-high $1.5 trillion in defense spending, setting a new modern historical record in the United States.
According to the plan, around $1.1 trillion will be allocated to the U.S. Department of Defense, with an additional $350 billion earmarked for key ammunition purchases, defense industrial base expansion, and other projects. Additionally, the budget covers key military programs such as shipbuilding and the "Golden Dome" missile defense system.
The White House stated that this budget will, while maintaining the overall spending cap, cut approximately $73 billion in non-defense spending, affecting areas such as education and environmental protection. At the same time, the proposal includes funding for new institutions, such as the National Fraud Investigation Agency led by Vice President JD Vance.
Currently, this budget is only a summary version, and the complete details are yet to be released. The Republican-controlled Congress must complete deliberations and decide on the final legislative content before the start of the new fiscal year on October 1st.
