According to 1M AI News monitoring, the AI research platform K-Dense has open-sourced the Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK) version of its research assistant. At the core is an AI Agent named Kady, which, upon receiving user queries, automatically determines whether to provide a direct answer or to schedule a specific domain AI "expert" for handling, targeting users such as scientists, analysts, and others in need of in-depth research capabilities.
Kady comes with over 170 scientific skills, covering fields from bioinformatics and genomics to materials science, and has access to over 250 scientific databases and 500,000 Python packages. Users can access over 40 AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Qwen, etc.) via OpenRouter, using their own API Key for payment, with all data and files remaining in a local sandbox. The execution of expert tasks' code is uniformly done through the Gemini CLI, with an option to connect to the Modal cloud computing platform for running high-performance computing tasks.
K-Dense also offers a hosted version, K-Dense Web, targeting professional and academic research teams, eliminating the need for self-deployment.
