BlockBeats reported that on October 14, according to official news, Zilliqa announced that its network has implemented a block reward halving mechanism, reducing mining rewards by half every month to match the network's transition to Zilliqa 2.0's Proof-of-Stake.
This change was implemented in accordance with Zilliqa's decentralized governance protocol. The relevant proposal was first published on the Zilliqa governance forum on September 24 and was widely discussed in the community.
On September 28, the proposal was publicly voted on, allowing gZIL holders to vote on whether to implement the halving mechanism. The vote ended on October 12, with more than 97% of the voting rights supporting the implementation of the halving mechanism.
