Federal Reserve official Kashkari reiterates his stance on interest rate hikes, favoring an overly tight monetary policy to quickly achieve inflation targets.

According to BlockBeats news on November 7th, as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Monday, Fed's Kashkari does not believe that the interest rate hike cycle has ended. In an interview, Kashkari stated that he would prefer to overtighten monetary policy rather than do too little in order to bring inflation down to the Fed's target of 2%. "Insufficient tightening will not allow us to return to the 2% inflation level in a reasonable time," he said. More information is needed to make firm decisions on future rate actions, "I cannot say that we are in a good position."
