JPMorgan analyst: Surge in Ethereum staking leads to increased centralization of the network.

According to a report by The Block on October 6th, a team led by Morgan Stanley analyst Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou stated that the increase in Ethereum staking has come at a cost since the Merge and Shanghai upgrades, as the Ethereum network has become more centralized and overall staking rewards have decreased. The main contributors to the increase in staking are liquidity staking providers such as Lido. The Morgan Stanley analysts stated that "the top five liquidity staking providers control more than 50% of the staking on the Ethereum network, with Lido occupying almost one-third. This involves a high degree of centralization. The total staking reward has decreased from 7.3% before the Shanghai upgrade to approximately 5.5% currently."
