The Australian Securities and Investments Commission strengthens its focus on high-risk derivatives.

According to a BlockBeats report on September 6th citing Blockworks, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is strengthening its focus on the distribution of "high-risk" over-the-counter derivatives (including cryptocurrency derivatives) to retail investors. Regulators are concerned that issuers may provide unregulated digital assets while offering regulated financial products, leading investors to mistakenly believe that consumer protection measures also apply to unregulated products.
