Venus Protocol has updated its BNB liquidation announcement and added links to relevant governance proposals to enhance transparency.
On June 12th, BlockBeats reported that Venus Protocol, a lending protocol on the BNB Chain, had deleted a previous announcement stating that the BNB Chain team would take over BNB positions on Venus if the liquidation threshold was reached. Instead, a new statement was released stating that in November 2022, the BNB Chain core team will exclusively take over the positions of the BNB Bridge attacker to ensure the safety of these assets and prevent further impact and sell-offs. The wallet addresses included in the takeover permission list initially held $30 million worth of USDT to prevent losses to Venus and provide additional support through the Venus governance approval mechanism. Venus explained that the update to the BNB liquidation announcement was made to provide users with more background information and disclose the link to the actual governance proposal, explaining the relevant mechanisms to increase transparency.
