Gitcoin is launching an Alpha round of funding for open source software, Ethereum infrastructure and climate solutions

BlockBeats news, on January 11th, Gitcoin announced that the Gitcoin Alpha Quadratic financing round will be held from January 17th to January 31st, 2023. This funding round will support 200 grantees working on open source software, Ethereum infrastructure and climate solutions, with a total matching fund of $1 million. In the Alpha round, donors can claim one POAP for each round they participate in, and users who collect all Poaps will be eligible to enter a draw to win Schelling Point VIP packages, including $150 Gitcoin products. In addition, in 2023 Gitcoin will transition to a blockchain-based grant protocol, allowing anyone to start a quadratic financing grant program. The agreement will enable funders to set up a grant program at any time, increasing flexibility for grantees who can apply across different rounds and donors who wish to provide small amounts of money.
