Coinbase litecoin escrow reached 12 million pieces, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the total in circulation

BlockBeats, says Franklyn Richards, director of the Wright foundation, more than half of the 64 million LTCS in circulation so far have not been moved in more than a year. As of Jan. 13, about 40 million LTCS, valued at a total of nearly $2.036 billion, were dormant. Presumably, these orca users bought the LTC at the lowest price and started hoarding it.

According to BitInfoCharts, of the 100 LTC addresses that had been "dormant" for a year, 45 started accumulating and buying LTC between November and December 2018. "We know that Coinbase users host 12 million LTCS on the platform," said Franklyn Richards. "we don't know if the same is true for other large service providers or trading platforms, but they probably have such addresses."
