According to BlockBeats, data from Ethernodes website shows that according to the average block release time, the hard biking of ethereum muir glacier is expected to take place at around 16:30 on January 2, 2020. 79.8% of the nodes (2,703) are ready for change, while 20.2% (684) are not ready.

BlockBeats reported that on December 23, ethereum released an official announcement announcing that the Muir Glacier hard fork is scheduled to take place at block height of 9.200,000 to delay the difficulty bomb. Ethereum reportedly delayed the difficulty bomb because of the backlash from the miners' group in the ethereum community and the confusion in the communication between the communities. To mitigate this, the eaeum development team decided to release the muir glacier hard fork upgrade, delaying difficulty bombs by another 4,000,000 blocks. (about 611 days in time).
