In this altcoin season, ZEC and NEAR are undoubtedly the hottest stars. Judging by market cap gains and strength, they are the absolute top players among altcoins this cycle. The early whistleblowers who bet on these two major projects are gradually being discovered. Besides the well-known Bankless founder David Hoffman, people have found that super secondary market player LiPing also started paying attention to ZEC and NEAR very early on.
His positions also validate his logic. A few days ago, he showed off his ZEC gains. From a cost of over 300, he opened a long position at 4x leverage. When ZEC hit $1,000, his profit exceeded $10 million. It's hard to imagine how good his account looks now.

BlockBeats reviewed his views on ZEC and NEAR over the past two years and found something quite interesting. Early on, he looked at these two projects separately, but a few months ago, he began to view them as a whole.
Let's start with NEAR. This thread started the earliest. In November 2024, when news of Grayscale increasing its position came out, he wrote "Grayscale went all-in on Near." At the time, Grayscale's decentralized AI fund raised NEAR's weight to about 30%. By January 2025, he gave his most condensed judgment: "$Near is a long slope with thick snow in the AI wave," meaning don't focus on short-term prices, but look at its long-term compounding in the AI cycle.
First-class technical team, but too far from users—that was his assessment of NEAR at the time.
Last September, he gave his most definitive view at the time. He judged that NEAR might be one of the most undervalued and most ambitious blockchain projects today, that it would build a trust layer on top of centralized LLMs and become the Visa of the AI Agent era; he cited a Bitwise research report saying the baseline price could reach $155 by 2030; he also mentioned that based on its operating history, NEAR is the only mainstream public chain besides ETH that has never gone down.
Now it seems NEAR is indeed moving in this direction.
The real turning point was last November, when he first tied NEAR and ZEC firmly together. NEAR's price began to rise, possibly because privacy leader ZEC completed the closed loop of privacy circulation through NEAR cross-chain. He said, "Many people don't realize why this matters, because most of the money that needs to stay hidden is originally outside the ZEC chain. This money needs a safe path to ZEC, and that is exactly what NEAR's intent layer accomplishes through chain signatures."
He also expected that other privacy chains would probably use NEAR intents to open their doors to the outside. From that day on, NEAR in his eyes was no longer just an AI chain, but a permissioned channel for privacy assets to move in and out.
By the middle of this year, ZEC+Near had become his primary position in the crypto market. At the same time, he also fully laid out the narrative he envisions for ZEC+NEAR.
The 1993 manifesto declared privacy is freedom and advocated using code to safeguard privacy in the digital age. In 2009, Bitcoin brought it all together, and a few years later ZEC went further in fully embodying this manifesto. Now, the AI wave further warns that the more AI develops, the more precious privacy becomes: "This is not a choice, this is a principle."
In his view, ZEC is already a "civilization-level asset," no longer an ordinary altcoin. When considering asset premiums, one must also consider the nature of the asset. The best assets are civilization-level assets. SpaceX, BTC, and ZEC belong to this category, with teams and projects themselves carrying a lofty mission to save humanity from being re-enslaved and from civilizational interruption. The next best are trend-level,
ZEC and NEAR are, in his eyes, the only two assets that simultaneously benefit from AI, cryptocurrency, and quantum security. Assets where multiple factors converge like this are highly prone to producing what Munger called the Lollapalooza effect, where the power is not simple addition but exponential amplification.
He says the privacy financial layer under the AI wave is the core of the future financial landscape, where Agents and humans move all value carriers through the privacy layer. Clearly, in his view, humans and AI Agents will move value through the privacy layer. ZEC is the privacy currency itself, NEAR is the execution layer for cross-chain intents, settlement, and confidential computing, and it is still early days.
If one were to summarize the views he repeatedly emphasized, they could be these few lines:
· The more AI develops, the more precious privacy becomes;
· NEAR provides the trust layer and payment layer for centralized large models and Agents;
· Most of the money that wants to stay hidden is outside the ZEC chain, and NEAR Intents is the secure entry point;
· ZEC embodies the Cypherpunk manifesto and is the banner of privacy currency; ZEC is a civilization-level asset, standing alongside BTC and SpaceX; these two are, in his eyes, the only two assets that simultaneously capture AI, crypto, and quantum security
