Sui and Karrier One have announced a strategic partnership, marking an important step in combining advanced telecommunications services with Web3 technology. The core of this collaboration is Sui's investment in Karrier One, providing funding support for the expansion of its decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) technology. This demonstrates how decentralized technology greatly expands access to the digital world and improves connectivity, especially for underserved populations.

This new technology collaboration integration will be highlighted by the DePIN service powered by Sui blockchain, and will launch the Karrier One Decentralized Wireless (DeWi) network token on Sui. In addition, contributors and participants in the Karrier One ecosystem will be able to earn DeWi tokens through various activities such as deploying radios and using Karrier One phone numbers.

This launch not only introduces a multi-functional governance token, but also expands the Karrier ecosystem through interchangeable tokens and NFTs. As part of the implementation of Karrier One, for example, Karrier One will sell universal phone numbers on the network and use the Karrier Number System (KNS) to enhance its security, which features emphasis on self-sovereign digital identity, protection of user data, and enhanced digital security.

One key feature of KNS will be the integration of zkLogin, which is a basic primitive of Sui, enabling Web3 authentication with familiar Web2 credentials, simplifying user interaction on Sui. For example, with zkLogin, users can log in using Google or Facebook and generate a self-managed wallet protected by zero-knowledge proofs. By combining KNS and zkLogin on Sui, this partnership enables end-users to transact on Web3 using their phone numbers without managing an encrypted local wallet. All Karrier One phone numbers will be distributed with these integrations as the default option for their phone plans. Users will also be able to port their numbers from other carriers, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of KNS and zkLogin. Users will be able to specify addresses on the network using their phone numbers for the first time and send and receive digital assets securely and privately via SMS without setting up a wallet.

Karrier One, as a leader in DePIN technology, will use the new investment from Sui to enhance its range of new services, such as retail wireless deployment, innovative mobile plans, and KNS, to provide critical infrastructure to underserved areas. A key aspect of this work is the use of Karrier One's advanced wireless technology to leverage unused wireless bands, primarily from large telecommunications companies that are often unwilling to bear the massive capital expenditures required to build infrastructure in certain areas in the US and abroad. As a result, most of the bands are underutilized. Karrier One bridges this gap by efficiently and effectively monetizing these signals to promote sustainable economic growth and inclusive connectivity.
