Gauntlet: Abnormal borrowing behavior of TUSD on Aave v2, with utilization rate reaching 98% multiple times

DeFi risk manager Gauntlet has launched a new proposal in the Aave community, suggesting iterating on Aave v2 Ethereum to reduce LT, LTV, and/or freeze TUSD supply to begin delisting TUSD. Gauntlet said that in the past week, abnormal borrowing behavior of TUSD has been observed on Aave v2, with utilization rates reaching 98% multiple times, and remaining above 90% from June 9 to June 15, and dropping to 74% as of June 16.

Gauntlet states that, due to the inability to quantify the risks associated with centralized stablecoins and regulatory issues, they have provided several options to the community to gauge their preferences and thoughts on TUSD:

  1. Iteratively lower the TUSD liquidation threshold to 77.5% and the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio to 75%;
  2. Freeze TUSD supply;
  3. Abstain;
  4. Maintain the status quo.

The first two options are not mutually exclusive, so this is a multiple-choice vote. The voting will end on June 26th.

The National Tax Agency of Japan announced partial revisions to virtual currency company tax rules.

According to a report by Coinpost, the National Tax Agency of Japan has issued a notice regarding the modification of certain corporate tax rules. The notice states that self-issued cryptocurrency assets by companies can be excluded from market valuation under certain conditions. This revision has also been included in the "Ruling Party Tax Reform Charter" for the 5th year of the Reiwa era, and the notice from the National Tax Agency has made this revision officially decided. Under previous legal provisions, if a company holds virtual currency, its unrealized gains will be subject to taxation at the end of the period. This provision has long been criticized for "burdening companies and hindering innovation in virtual currency and blockchain". Due to this law, some companies have chosen to conduct business overseas.
