The cryptocurrency market often swings with the shifting narrative, and here are 10 potential narratives and catalysts I'm keeping a close eye on for 2023.

1.ETH authenticator middleware

Services like Eigen Layer, which uses pledged ETH to secure other protocols, are likely to see significant growth as they open up a new way for validators to generate revenue.

It provides greater capital efficiency and countless new opportunities for validators who want to take on additional risk and responsibility for more revenue. Protocols such as Rocket Pool may benefit from middleware such as Eigen Layer, to which verifiers may re-pledge their ETH in the future if they want to earn additional revenue.

2. Upgrade Optimism Bedrock

Bedrock is one of the most substantial updates to the Optimism Ecosystem, optimizing performance and reducing expenses.

Bedrock also supports the use of any proof system on Optimism, such as the use of ZK proof.

If Optimism Rollup falls out of favor in the future, the ecosystem can transition seamlessly to better solutions rather than gradually becoming obsolete.

3. crvUSD

There has been a lot of speculation that CurveFinance's stablecoin, crvUSD, will launch in 2023. This will bring a new source of income and a novel clearing mechanism for Curve ecology.

The projects that will probably benefit most from this are Curve, Convex, and Frax, as they all play an important role in Curve. One strategy I am considering is to lock $CVX at 0xCLever for an automatic compounding gain.

4. GHO

Along with Curve, AAVE also plans to launch its stablecoin, $GHO, in 2023. There has been speculation about a possible revamp of Token economics, but nothing has been confirmed.

8. Liquid Pledged Derivatives (LSD)

With Ethereum's upcoming Shanghai upgrade, liquidity pledge products have been subject to new hype, with speculation that more users will be willing to pledge their ETH once the withdrawal feature is enabled.

Having said that, but the items concerned have been pulled up in the last few days, I personally would not FOMO. Remember to do your due diligence.

Due to synergies with Eigenlayer, the liquidity pledge products I'm watching closely are Rocket Pool ($RPL), and frxETH from FraxFinance.

9. NFTFi
