zkSync 2.0 mainnet will be launched on October 28th, only 2 days left. According to official news, zkSync 2.0 will introduce a new function Account Abstraction (Account Abstraction) and explain this concept. BlockBeats organizes and translates it as follows.
zkSync believes that account abstraction, a new feature of zkSync 2.0, may be one of the key factors for the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.

It is difficult to clarify this topic in a short Twitter Thread. Julien Niset, the co-founder of the encrypted wallet Argent, once wrote a series of articles to explain it. Please click link to see the first part.

In short, account abstraction provides an ability to go beyond Layer 1 compared to accounts working at Layer 1. In Layer 1, users have two kinds of accounts, namely "externally owned account" (EOA) and contract account (CA). On Ethereum, every transaction must be initiated by an EOA.
The EOA implementation provides a strong coupling between the EOA and the private key associated with the account. If the user loses this private key, it means that the account is also lost. It is difficult for billions of users to completely protect their assets by managing 12 seed phrases.
Accounts in zkSync 2.0 can initiate transactions like EOA, but any Logic can be executed, such as smart contracts. Account abstraction provides greater flexibility in the user experience of accounts.
For example, smart contract wallets can achieve "Social Recovery" instead of A mnemonic is required; different signature schemes can be implemented, such as gas-saving or quantum-resistant signature schemes.
BlockBeats Note: Social recovery refers to mechanisms that leverage social connections to help users regain access to accounts in the event of a lost key. Quantum-resistant cryptography, also known as post-quantum cryptography, specializes in encryption algorithms that can resist quantum computers, especially public key encryption (asymmetric encryption) algorithms.
The topic of account abstraction has been discussed many times in the Ethereum community, and many people have tried to Account abstraction is introduced on Layer 1. Please click on the link to view the summary.
