ZkEVM test network released, how is the experience?

尽管很多人都认为 ZK Rollup 是解决以太坊主网以及其他 Layer 1 可扩展性问题的关键组成部分，大家对这项技术的实际普及周期还是很悲观，不少人都认为至少需要 1 至 2 年的时间。不过 ZKR 的领头羊 zkSync 却很争气，昨晚发布了 2.0 EVM 测试网，向我们证明了 ZKR 的发展速度。

这次的 zkEVM 主要是满足了大多数以太坊应用程序的开发需求，给开发者提供了一个试验空间，帮助他们设计出在以太坊主网上无法实现的应用。其中最主要的升级就是对 ECDSA 签名的原生支持，用户可以直接在 zkSync 的 2 层网络使用和以太坊主网相同的地址。

而对编程语言、加密对原语和 API 协议的支持，也为开发者节省了大量时间。对 Solidity 0.8.x 编程语的支持，让很多应用几乎不用更改代码就可以直接部署到 zk Sync；API 与以太坊完全兼容，允许与现有索引器和资源管理器等实现无缝集成；加入安全帽插件，保证开发者能在 zkSync 上轻松地测试和开发智能合约。

另外，zk Sync 2.0 还支持 Layer 1 和 Layer 2 之间的智能合约消息传递，让开发者将各种数据从以太坊主网传递到 zkSync 上的智能合约，以提供其运行所需的各种信息。

However, with all the upgrades said, it is still difficult for ordinary users to generate concrete cognition, so we might as well experience it ourselves.

First, we go to https://portal.zksync.io and connect to our Metamask wallet.

If you don't already have your Goerli Test Network ETH Token in your wallet, you can click "Faucet" on the left and get it here. If you cannot obtain the ETH Token due to too many requests, you can obtain the ETH Token from https://goerli-faucet.mudit.blog. The ETH Token mentioned in this document is the ETH Token of Goerli test network.

After obtaining ETH, we can go to the "Deposit" option and transfer it to zkSync's test network. This process takes about a minute or two and you can see that gas is very cheap.

After transferring ETH to zkSync, we can transfer assets at Layer 2. The page will prompt you to switch to zkSync Testnet. The new version of zkSync supports ECDSA signatures, so we can directly use the wallet address of the Ethereum main network. Click the "Transfer" option and fill in the ethereum main network address of the target account to Transfer assets. The commission fee is basically zero.

If you want to move ETH back to the Layer 1 test network, select the "Withdraw" option and complete.

Finally, we can select the "Tx Search" option and enter the transaction hash value to see our records on the zkSync test network.

First, we visit https://testnet.switch.mute.io/ and connect their wallets. On the "Wallet" page you can see the assets you moved to Layer 2 and the gas savings you made using ZKR.

On the "Swap" page, we can conduct a transaction. Notice that instead of "Comfirm", Metamask pops up "Sign". In other words, the transaction has not been transferred to the ethereum main network, so there is no need to pay gas.

On the "Pool" page we can create or provide liquidity pools, while on the "Farming" page we can pledge LP tokens to earn profits without paying gas fees.

可以看到，尽管使用的是同样的资产，但基于 ZKR 构建的应用明显对普通用户友好了很多。一旦用户在操作上更加游刃有余，gas 费也不再会是阻碍以太坊 DeFi 发展的障碍。当然，未来的 Layer 2 世界远不止有 DeFi 应用，zkSync 背后的 Matter Labs 一直在与各类项目进行合作，以构建出一个以 zkSync 为支柱的 ZKR 生态。

On the team's new Ecosystem Hub page, we can see a number of apps under construction or already online.

除了 Metamask、1inch Wallet 等主流钱包的支持外，Banxa 和 MoonPay 等交易机构也都将支持用户直接在 zkSync 上购买 crypto，做到完全绕开 Layer 1 上的 gas 费用。而包括 Crypto.com、火币、OKEx 等机构也在为构建使用 zkSync 直接存取款的功能。

在跨链桥方面，Celer、ZigZag、LayerZero、PolyNetwork 等基础设施将支持在 zkSync 2.0 和其他 L1、L2 之间低廉快速地转移资产。在预言机和索引方面，Chainlink 和 Graph Protocol 也会分别为 zkSync 提供必要的服务。

In the future, zkSync will be upgraded to include support for more programming languages, efficient l1-L2 messaging, and zkPorter to further reduce network costs and improve security. It can be said that such a ZKR world is very worth looking forward to.
