This is a short article about what underpins my work in Web3 and the blockchain future I'm fighting for.

First of all, people say "technology is neutral", I disagree. While technology can be used for both good and bad purposes, it always tends to lean gradually in one direction.

Industrial technology in the 20th century tends to be community-based, why? Because successful use of industrial technology requires physical space and trust in others, industrial technology is a natural fit for collaboration.

Blockchain is the opposite. Blockchain tends to be individualistic because there is no need to trust other people.

You can say that the blockchain improves "trust efficiency", which means that you need to trust fewer people or institutions, and at the same time can do more many things.

You now trust computer networks, not people.

The question is, how do we take advantage of the greater trust efficiencies blockchains provide?

One option, the one path we lean toward, is to become more individualistic.

High trust efficiency enables a new kind of radical individualism, unrestricted by geography, with minimal need for community.

However, blockchain also gives us the opportunity to build something entirely new, leveraging high trust efficiencies to create deeper communities than ever before. Before the emergence of the blockchain, such high information efficiency required a large number of third-party mediation, which easily caused new problems.

My personal work is dedicated to building "new things", I hope you can see the dawn of it in the projects I participate in, using trust efficiency to expand the community , rather than individualism.
