< p>This article is based on the opinions of Kyle Samani, the co-founder of Multicoin Capital, on his personal social media platform, which is organized and translated by BlockBeats as follows:

I have been thinking about what kind of game is the most suitable for encryption recently.

At present, there are many types of games. One classification method is to divide games into games whose time will be reset and games whose time will not be reset.

For games like Halo, the time will be reset after each game. Call of Duty, Rocket League, Fortnite and other games are like this .

There are still many games with continuous time, such as games like World of Warcraft and Star Wars Eve that will not reset the game time because a certain game ends , such games are basically MMORPG.

In fact, there is another type of game between the two. The biggest representative of this type of game is the online mode of GTA5. In the online mode of GTA5, only when you start a new game session (called a battle in the game) with friends or passers-by, and create a new game map, the time will reset, and not at other times. But I think the future of GTA is likely to be like World of Warcraft, and the time will not be reset under any circumstances.

Under this classification framework, it is obvious which game is more suitable for NFT, and of course it is a game where time will not be reset. Basically, I think all MMORPGs in the future will contain a lot of encryption-related content or NFT.

As an aside, I missed the Star Atlas seed round in January 2021...

What about other games?

The key seems to be the global state, more specifically who owns the land and natural resources in the game. So what type of game does this map to?

For real-time strategy (RTS) games, although most real-time strategy games currently reset the time, we have actually seen some changes recently, but The form of global games is still riskier for real-time strategy games.

For board games, there are similar risks to real-time strategy games.

In addition, I think MMORPG is the fastest (though not necessarily the best) way into the metaverse.

If the Metaverse is a universe that makes you feel present (front end) and own property (back end), then Star Atlas in VR devices like Oculus Possibly the first metaverse that makes sense.

To be clear, this does not mean that other types of games cannot use encryption.

Over the next 12 months, we'll see iterations of every game that's been popular over the past 20 years, but this time with the addition of NFTs or tokens. currency.

Games like Farmville, Neopets, Tamagochi, Animal farm, Pokémon GO, and I'm sure some of their successors will be hugely successful.

Finally, AR collectible games like Pokémon GO, if NFT is introduced, seems to be a great new design space for games. I want to see more games like this! If you're building something like this, please get in touch!
