Miami mayor Says he will give away some of the government's bitcoin revenue to city residents

So far, MiamiCoin has generated $21 million in revenue since its launch.

On November 12, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced that the city will invest in its local token MiamiCoin and receive bitcoin proceeds through investment. He also said Miami would be "the first city in the United States to distribute bitcoin proceeds directly to its residents as dividends."

First announced on August 3, 2021, MiamiCoin allows residents to basically invest in different projects and infrastructure in the city. The city's cryptocurrency revenue funds are transferred to the city's Treasury, and so far MiamiCoin has generated $21 million in revenue since its launch.
