On September 30, Ethereum 2.0 client Prysmatic Labs posted that since Prysm runs the vast majority of pledged ETH and a large number of nodes in the network, ethereum proof of interest requires the vast majority (& GT; 2/3) of online consensus participants participated. If the Prysm software fails by consensus, other client implementations will assume that less than two-thirds of the validation nodes are participating in the wrong operation, leading to collective penalties and serious problems with the blockchain.

Prysm addresses the community's concerns above and Outlines specific steps the team is taking to address the issue to improve client interoperability and diversity. Over the next few months, the team will focus on:
4. Continue to develop standards where appropriate to create rich user experiences for pledgers who choose any client.
Prysm sees the current open source ecosystem as a free software market where all clients have differentiation factors that lead individuals and organizations to make different choices. Each implementation was originally built to have specific edges for different user roles. Prysm is opposed to forcing implementation teams to achieve equal outcomes and believes client competition is essential.
