London Mainnet Upgrade Announcement and Associated Code Changes

Editor's note:Thank you to ETH Chinese for translating the ethereum Foundation's & NBSP; "London" Upgrade announcements and version update announcements from the Geth client team. To be added:
By:In addition to the Announcement of the London mainnet upgrade, ECN also translated the code changes in Geth client V1.10.5 regarding the London upgrade that different actors should be aware of.
To be compatible with the London upgrade, the node operator will need to upgrade the version of the client it is running on. Each client version listed below supports the London upgrade to the Ethereum mainnet.Note: The following versions are different from the client versions listed in the London Test Network Bulletin. The Client version of the Test network does not support the client version of the Main network London upgrade.

Pay attention toThe OpenEthereum client has been upgraded and deprecated. The OE team is working with Erigon to provide a smooth transition path for users. Click here for more information.
Attention miners: The London upgrade will change the way the network handles gas limit targets. See "What do I need to do as a miner?" below. For details.
The following EIPs are the contents of the London upgrade:
Ethereum Cat Herders has posted a blog post discussing the details of these EIPs.
It's worth noting that while IP-1559 is backward compatible with the current transaction format, it introduces changes to the block header, adds new transaction types, provides a new JSON RPC endpoint, and changes the client's behavior in several ways (mining, trading pools, and so on). Familiarity with this EIP is strongly recommended for each project. A more extensive list of materials related to IP-1559 can be found here.
In order to bring more attention to the upcoming London upgrade, the bonus for all Bugs related to The London upgrade will be doubled until the upgrade begins. Examples of how you can claim a double bounty are cross-client consensus issues between these clients: Geth, Besu, Nethermind, OpenEthereum, and Erigon. Full details about the bug bounty scope and limits, please refer to: https://bounty.ethereum.org/#rules.
Q:Is there anything I can do as an Ethereum user or ETH holder?
If you use an exchange (like Coinbase, Kraken, or Binance) or a web wallet service (like Metamask, MyCrypto, or MyEtherWallet), With mobile Wallet services (like Coinbase Wallet, Status.im, or Trust Wallet) or hardware wallets (like Ledger, Trezor, or KeepKey), you don't have to do anything, Unless your exchange or wallet service tells you to take additional steps. If you're running your own Ethereum node, you need to upgrade your node. See below "What do I need to do as a non-mining node?" Part.
Q:What do I need to do as a non-mining node?
Download the latest version of the Ethereum client, as listed in the table above.
Q:What should I do as a miner?
First, download the latest version of your Ethereum client. Then you need to manually set the gas limit target to double the current one. This is because once the London upgrade is deployed, the block size will double, while IP-1559 will remain approximately 50% full. This can be done via JSON-RPC on any client that provides mainnetwork-compatible mining, without restarting your node.
For example, if you set the block size to 15m gas before the London upgrade, you will need to set the gas limit to 30m to maintain a consistent average number of transactions per block. If you don't modify the gas limit target in block 12 965 000, you will start reducing your block size across the network. The following table provides each client-specific API that you will need to update your Gas limit target.

Note: Nethermind, Erigon and EthereumJS do not currently support mining on the Ethereum mainnet.
Q:What if I am a miner or node runner and not involved in the upgrade?
If you are using an Ethereum client but are not upgrading to the latest version (listed above), your client will synchronize the pre-fork blockchain data after the upgrade. You will be stuck on an incompatible chain that follows the old rules and will not be able to send ETH or operate on the upgraded Ethereum network.
Q:What does network upgrade mean on Ethereum?
A network upgrade means a change in ethereum's underlying protocol, creating new rules to improve the system. The decentralized nature of the blockchain system makes it harder to upgrade the network. A smooth upgrade to the blockchain network requires collaboration and communication with the community and various Ethereum client developers to make the transition smooth.
Q:What happens during the network upgrade process?
When the community reaches a consensus on what changes need to be incorporated into the upgrade, these changes to the protocol are written into the various Ethereum clients, such as Geth, Erigon, Besu, and Nethermind. Protocol changes are initiated at a specific block height. Any nodes that do not upgrade to the new rules will be abandoned on the old chain, and the old chain will keep the previous rules.
Q:Why "London"?
After the Istanbul upgrade, we ran out of names for the network upgrade. Someone suggested we name it after the city where Devcon was held, so we did. Berlin was the city that hosted Devcon 0, and the next upgrade will be the city that hosted Devcon 1 -- London.
Thank you
