Imagine a day when people no longer need to travel to Paris, France, or Milan, Italy, the fashion and design capital of the world, to have the perfect fashion shopping experience. Yes, there is no need to take a complicated vehicle, and no need for high transportation costs, you are only one meta-cosmic account from the people who are on the cutting edge of fashion.
Developed by Republic Realm, Metajuku on Decentraland is taking the fashion shopping experience to the next level by making Fashion + Metajuku a reality.
Metajuku is a 16,000-square-foot (256-square-meter) project on Decentraland with a pedestrian-friendly open space at its center. Retail stores line both sides of the open central atrium. The block is located on the coordinate "94,21" of Decentraland. Regular tenants include two digital-only fashion brands, Dress-X and Tribute Brand. Digital clothing can be purchased in the shopping district.
Designed by Austin-based architect Martin Guerra, the project was developed by Republic Realm's global team of 3D real estate and game developers. The branded store was designed by Zagreb based architecture firm BIRO.
Metajuku's inspiration comes from real life. The building was inspired by Harajuku in Tokyo, an area known as the center of Japanese street fashion. Metajuku's homage to primitivism also represents its tolerance to a wide range of fashion styles. Harajuku fashion is not just a way of dressing, but an attitude towards clothing and life. But what they have in common is a love of fashion and an idea expressed through clothing.
The way people hang out in this part of Tokyo associated with the fashion may not fit stylistic conventions, but they do have a sense of pride in their clothes. Among the styles represented by Harajuku fashion, some of the most representative include Lolita, Cosplay and punk. In the eyes of many, Harajuku's innovative style has made it the fashion capital of the world, and Metajuku has the potential to be the next.
Since virtual real estate does not have the same physical limitations as real estate development in the real world, these projects are designed to be zero-gravity. For example, digital clothing in the dress-x store is shown as zero-gravity balls floating in the air.
Without the need for a variety of permits, in this decentralized country, architects can be creative with their own ideas, "clothing itself is a fashion, and the shopping experience or shopping location is another additional fashion."
The rise of the Internet to make electric business platform, such as Ebay, Amazon provides people an opportunity to never leave home can shopping, but always missing some touch in offline store entity, also will appear because of graph of off color, and can't reflect the real texture show a range of factors and appear buyers and sellers show smile terrier.
In the virtual world, what we get is not only the plan of the two-dimensional world, but the complete shopping experience. With the continuous development of AR technology, we are expected to achieve a series of one-click virtual fitting, intelligent size change, and even touch the texture of clothing.
As Metajuku architect Martin Guerra says, "One of the first shopping experiences to shape Web 3.0 was the challenge of reimagining how humans would interact with online shopping in an immersive experience, not just through traditional websites."
The digital gaming wearable market is still in its infancy, and digital real estate developers and investors like Republic Realm are poised to ride the benefits of The Times and technology. We can also see that the Republic Realm team is investing and developing more and more as the underlying technology continues to evolve. Both the purchase of Decentraland land we mentioned last time and the participation in the development of the Clothing Street project on Decentraland.
Republic Realm not only provides capital as an investor to drive the industry forward, but also brings the powerful technology power inside the platform. As noted investor Lei Zhang said, "Investors should be willing to grow together with the company to build a deep and wide dynamic moat of continuous innovation."
The spring of digital industry is coming quietly. Decentraland has doubled its land share over the last two months, a whopping 644 times the amount it first issued in 2017. "Republic Realm's digital real estate portfolio feature is the first 'Metaverse Reit', offering investors passive exposure to an asset class with significant upside potential," said Jesse Stein, Republic Realm's portfolio manager.
The famous director John Lassard once said, "Art challenges technology, and technology inspires art." Let's see how the Metajuku block, developed by Republic Realm, combines technology and art magic.
