The Google Trends score for the "buy encryption" keyword is 100 out of 100, indicating the greatest relative interest.

According to cryptocurrency analytics firm The Tie, searches for "buy crypto" on Google surged to an all-time high in January, far surpassing The peak seen in early 2018.

Ethereum also saw a similar spike, reaching 100 points at one point before falling back to 65 points. Searches for Bitcoin (BTC) also surged, but remain well below the bull market highs of 2017.

Tie also shared the following chart, which highlights the dramatic increase in the number of people searching for "the best cryptocurrency apps" and "the best cryptocurrency exchanges."

The rise in interest in cryptocurrencies was also reflected on Twitter, where the total number of tweets dedicated to cryptocurrencies reached 3.3 million in January, up from 1.3 million in September 2020. Total tweets in January were up 181 percent from the same month last year.
