Bitwise Asset Management, a provider of bitcoin index funds, is seeking regulatory approval to allow it to publicly trade the shares of a bitcoin fund on the over-the-counter (OTC) market, according to Bblockbeats.
The company has filed 211 applications for a Bitcoin fund with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
To compete with bitcoin investment vehicles such as Greyscale Investments (Grayscale) and Galaxy Digital, the company plans to publicly trade its fund's shares on the OTCQX market in New York. Fidelity Investments will oversee the custody of the fund's bitcoin assets.
