Rhythm BlockBeats news, on January 6, Lido, the Ethereum 2.0 pledge liquidity solution, announced the launch of the governance token LDO. The LDO token manages all Lido DAO governance and network decisions.
Currently, the founding members of Lido DAO own LDO tokens which will be locked for one year.
LDO voting weight is proportional to the number of LDOs a voter holds in the voting contract. The more LDOs in the user voting contract, the more decision-making power voters get. The exact mechanics of LDO voting can be upgraded like other DAO applications. The LDO token will be used in all current and future DAO voting, giving each token holder a say in the direction and growth of the Lido DAO.
LIDO tokens are distributed as follows:
After Lido DAO launch , 1 billion LDO tokens were minted. At the time of writing, the founding members of Lido DAO own 64% of the LDO tokens, which are locked for one year and unlocked linearly thereafter. The tokens owned by the founding members are the only unlocked LDOs in existence.
The specific allocation of tokens is as follows:
· DAO treasury holds 36.32% of tokens;
· Investors hold 22.18% of tokens;
6.5% of the tokens are held by validators and signature holders;
20% of the tokens are held by early Lido developers;
15% of the tokens are held by the founders and team.
