BlockBeats news, at 14pm on May 18, beat found that some fraudsters were using the images of famous people to broadcast live on the Youtube platform and at the same time releasing bitcoin addresses to commit fraud.

Current BlockBeats names include Chamath Palihapitiya, founder and CEO of Social Capital; Brad Smith, President of Microsoft; and lei jun, founder of xiaomi.

This discovery of live streaming fraud is suspected to be the work of the same gang, we use one of the examples to explain. Currently, a search for Chamath Palihapitiya on the Youtube platform reveals that someone has registered a number of accounts related to Chamath, including Chamath Palihapitiya live, chamath-palihapitiya live and other accounts for live streaming. The live stream appeared to be just Chamath's previous speech, but the ultimate goal of the account registrants was actually fraud. At the bottom of the live stream screen was a bitcoin address. The scammers said that if users transferred 0.1-20 bitcoins to this address, they would get 0.2-40 bitcoins in return.

According to OKLink, there have been five transfers to the bitcoin address in the live broadcast today, with the account balance temporarily at 1.08 bitcoins. However, it is not clear whether some users were deceived or the gang transferred the bitcoins to attract users.

Users on twitter have found live videos of the scam and are contacting the celebrities themselves and Youtube officials to take the live videos down.

BlockBeats reminds investors to avoid fraud and invest cautiously. Such scams are extremely common in the cryptocurrency industry, where scammers use the profile pictures of well-known people to set up accounts that look very similar to them and attract users to transfer money at more than twice the rate of return. Ethereum founder vishen, EOS founder BM, and even tesla founder elon musk have all been exploited by fraudsters.
