Google has removed 49 Chrome extensions disguised as legally encrypted applications

BlockBeats news, Google has removed 49 extensions from the store disguised as legitimate cryptocurrency wallet extensions such as Ledger, MyEtherWallet, Trezor, Electrum, but containing malicious code that would steal the private key of the encrypted wallet, mems, and other original secrets.

It is understood that the 49 extensions were discovered by Harry Denley, security director of the MyCrypto platform. Denley said that the 49 extensions appear to have been created by the same person or group of organizations, although all the extension functions are the same, but the specific brand of the disguise changes according to the target user.
