Volt Capital, Jump Trading, CMT Trading and DRW Trading have formed the Chicago DeFi alliance (CDA), an organization that connects Chicago Trading firms with the DeFi project, BlockBeats reports. To channel liquidity, many DeFi startups are looking to connect with trading firms and professional traders. However, they are not necessarily aware of the DeFi needs and concerns of these trading firms. CDA hopes to fill that gap and help DeFi startups find the resources to develop products that take advantage of the liquidity these trading companies represent.

A group of chicago-based cryptographic trading firms is gathering to build closer ties with the open finance (DeFi) project.Volt Capital, Jump Trading, CMT Trading and DRW Trading today launched the Chicago DeFi alliance (CDA). Founding members of the alliance include TD Ameritrade, DV Trading, Arca, dYdX and Compound.

The alliance aims to help DeFi understand the Chicago trading ecosystem, a major financial center known for its derivatives markets. As the DeFi program focuses on guiding liquidity and engaging professional traders, CDA provides a platform for them to communicate with trading companies, liquidity providers, and otc platforms.

Each DeFi startup will have a mentor and four to six weeks of training to understand the DeFi needs of trading companies. The ultimate goal, says Imran Khan, a partner at Volt Capital general, is to give the start-ups a clear idea of what products they can develop and what resources they need to attract companies in the deal space. At the same time, CDA provides a channel for trading companies to learn more about DeFi. While many trading companies are interested in DeFi, many are sitting on the sidelines due to a lack of a thorough understanding of the various agreements and concerns about issues such as asset safety.
